In 2019, three Executive Director positions transitioned in the Greater Philadelphia Public Gardens region with significant leadership legacies and boards seeking new evolution within their organizations: Tyler Arboretum, Morris Arboretum, and Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens. This presents a unique point-in-time perspective on leadership transition at three institutions in the same geographic area with an abundance of public gardens; an area with an informed horticulture community looking for leadership to build the roadmap for these organizations' future.
Join us for a lively discussion on how these new leaders are tackling some of the challenging questions every institution faces during a leadership transition: recruiting, building consensus, and planning strategically to changing the organizational culture, fostering innovation and growth, and blending legacy and vision while facilitating a smooth transition for the staff.
