How do we make more informed, data-driven decisions quickly and consistently about the health and management of our living collections? How do we do so in the face of ever-increasing threats? And how do we improve inter-departmental communications surrounding collection management efforts?
As the Arnold Arboretum approaches its 150th year, we are reviewing all aspects of horticultural operations and asking important questions to ensure the sustainability and safety of our collections into the future. Our response is a new, transformative adaptive-management model we call The Landscape Management System (LMS). The LMS allows us to collect real-time information, and provides a system to store, visualize, and share these data to improve the quality of our horticultural care.
Come learn about this novel technology and how it has broken down inter-departmental barriers to foster better collaboration.
