The goal of many botanical gardens is for people to visit and experience their site. At times the public cannot visit for a variety of reasons such as weather, transportation issues, monetary restraints, or space restrictions. In order to fulfill their mission, gardens must often bring programs off-site.
This presentation is meant for organizations who do not yet have off-site programming or are looking for new ideas to add to their existing outreach programs. The session will cover reasons for offering off-site programming, how to market and manage a program including possible issues/problems to consider, examples of off-site programming, program funding sources, and how to measure success.
