Data collection is important for any institution, but many gardens are uncertain about how to collect and use it. Carefully crafted surveys are a great way to get to know your audience and impact. While surveys are often perceived as relatively quick and easy to do, it is crucial to understand and apply best practices to glean the information you need to understand and connect with your visitors and keep visitors comfortable.
If a survey isn't designed properly, it won't give you the data you need to succeed. In this session we'll discuss the strengths and limitations of surveys as an evaluation tool and real-world examples of survey work done in multiple garden settings.
